From being scouted by SBS for the South Korean TV series KPOP STAR to singing and producing for Amazon’s original tv series James May: Our Man In Japan, Michelle Cheuk is an up-and-coming artist with a passion for recording/production, composition and sound design.

She was trained classically since she was a child and since continued to expand the genres that she is able to work in. Her music has been enjoyed by fans with 700k+ views across platforms. Michelle’s approach to sound design and foley has been greatly shaped by her background in music, recording and producing, as she feels a sense of musicality in the art.

Her first experience with sound design was very recently with her sound design role for her university's Animation Major’s Capstone Project, Student Accomplice. As it was her first sound design gig, she worked hard to prepare for the role to do justice to the animated short. Student Accomplice has since been nominated for the 2025 Student Emmy Awards, the 2024 HMMA, and the 2025 MPSE Awards and has been awarded Bronze at the 2024 Student Oscar Awards, Gold at the 2024 Student Recording Competition at AES, and others.

In this whole process Michelle has most enjoyed the craft and getting to create with her teammates. Coming from a multicultural Korean and American background, Michelle finds inspiration from and importance in celebrating both individuality and diversity, finding her greatest joy in collaboration and community building through sound for audiences and creators alike.
